GoLDS Plaques and GoLDSPlaques.com is the product of many years of hard work in the awards industry. Ryan first started engraving at a “mom and pop shop” after returning from the Argentina Resistencia Mission in 1994. He left the shop a short time later when he moved out of the neighborhood and finished his schooling in north San Diego County.
In 1999, as he was finishing his graduate studies in Spanish literature and linguistics, he met Debra, who had also served in the Argentina Resistencia Mission at the same time. Strangely enough, they never met in the mission field. Although they had known many of the same people, their paths had never crossed until she moved to San Diego from the Mesa, Arizona, area.
After remaining in San Diego for the first couple years of their married life, they returned to Debra's native land where Ryan completed his dream of opening his own awards shop. After considerable growth, they sold A2Z Trophy in 2005 with the decision that they would focus solely on L.D.S. missionary plaques and other products common in the “Mormon” community.
